Jessica Watson has completed something that not many people have done, and not many people will do. She sailed around the world solo, in her little boat. She’s only 16, and there’s no denying that it’s one hell of an achievement, but is she really a hero?

Now, I mean no dis-credit to her, and she has openly said that she doesn’t see herself as a hero. It is just more proof that Australians are overusing a word, that should be reserved for people who truely deserve it.

People in the community who truely do good. Firefighters, Police Officers, Paramedics. Hell, it can be the average guy down the road, who faced with a life or death situation, chooses to risk his life, to save another.

Yet, our top politician (who is a twat, but that’s another story), feels it’s alright to list Jessica Watson alongside some of Australia’s most amazing people. By sailing around the road.

Yes, there was a lot of hype and support. But does that make you a hero? If it does, then I think we, as a nation, need to stop and think about some of the people in this country who have truely gone above and beyond to re-enforce one of Australia’s biggest qualities. Mateship.

You know, looking after your mates.

It saddens me to think that Kevin Rudd is happy to group this girl, who did achieve something great, in the same circle as the absolute true heros in this country.

Congratulations Jess. You did good, but you will never be a hero in the real sense of the word.

Christmas 2009 is fast approaching, and if you haven’t already (like me) done your shopping for gifts, well, you should think about doing that sometime.

Traditionally, Christmas was to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. At least that’s what some people call him. No matter how you look at it, he has the best birthday party in the world. Because every bastard celebrates.

Although, I guess if I wanted to be all PC, U should name this entry, Holiday Season. But I’m not PC, so I won’t do that. So if you’re offended, Friday the 25th is a great day for you to be working, now get to it.

Anyway. This silly celebration has it’s good things. We hear about them every year. Family, Presents, Food, blah blah blah. What we don’t hear often is the shit that comes with such a holiday.

First off. We have Christmas in November. Yep, because December 1, 25 days out from the actual day, is not enough time for us to really be reminded that it’s Christmas. So most of November, we see all the sparkling lights, decorations and dicks is costume.

Second. Christmas rolls around, and ever bastard and his dog wants to travel. If you’re on the roads, you take your life in your own hands. Soon enough we will hear about the road tolls. NSW is currently winning. Or, if you want to score like golf, the ACT has it covered. You also have dicks with caravans.

Then we have shopping. Yep, on a regular day, who doesn’t like spending money. On themselves! The fact that we have to go out, and spend our hard earned on every other bastard doesn’t make sense. This is essentially, someone birthday. So why aren’t we buying Jesus a present.

I hear your answer. He’s no longer with us. Well, then that negates the need for presents does it not? Anyway, what a dick, I got a laptop for cxmas early, so lets forget about not giving presents.

Lets look at the Xmas specials every bastard has in their store. Why do all the specials seem to cost more than what they did two months ago when the exact same product was not on special? Greeeed. Jesus has caused a lot of greed. But good on him.

Christmas trees. Why, for the love of God, would any sane individual want a pine tree in their living room? It makes no sense. If pine trees were meant to be inside, they would have adapted to growing in carpet, or hardwood floors.

I also feel sorry for Energex. One one end of the scale, everyone is getting up the power companies for their coal power plants causing this made up Global Warming. Whinge whinge whinge, coal is killing the world. But then they go and put 60,000 little coloured, electric bulbs all around their house, which not only consumes more power, it also proves very difficult for the neighbours to sleep at night.

I do feel for the family next door in the house without aircon, next to a fool with all his lights. They can’t close the windows, otherwise it’s too hot, because Xmas in QLD, it’s stupid hot. And they can’t open them, because of the penetrating light. But in saying that, they do look pretty cool at times, I’m just saying, why?

Don’t get me started on Santa…

Anyway. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Incase Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux wasn’t enough, now the Google lovers out there have something to smile about it. It’s not much, but you can bet they will defend it to the death.

Google has finally unveiled the Google Chrome OS. An operating system based on their Chrome Browser. Which is of course based on Apple’s WebKit (like Safari).

While first glances aren’t usually the best to go by, the screen shot shows a lot of detail about how the system will work. Of course, the interface could change, and time will tell.

I see no grouping, however, it could change, if it doesn’t, it could get annoyingly messy.

How much data do we want Google to hold from us. The private information they are collecting, and storing on their servers is quite frightening. Just from the above screenshot, we see no applications that are stand alone to the operating system.

Gmail. They store our emails.
Hotmail / Yahoo Mail. Web based third parties.
Google Calendar. They store our events.
Google Reader. They know what we like to read about.
Google Docs. They know what we write, what spreadsheets we make etc.
You Tube. They have our videos, and know what we like to watch.
Picasa. They have our photos.
Hulu. Web based third party.
Lala. As above.
Pandora. As Above.
Notepad. They know our notes.
Contacts. They know our friends, business partners, family etc.
To-do List. They know what we need to do.
Calculator. Well everything has a calculator. 8008135
Books. They know the books we read.
Chess. Umm. Meh.
Facebook. Third Party.
Twitter. Third Party.

Above, considering the amount of information we all share, is exactly that. A lot of information for one company to hold for one person, not to mention the millions upon millions of people who use Google. When we add Google Search and soon to be Wave to it, and Google will probably know things that even we, as the owners of this information remember.

All of that aside. What about the fact that an Internet connection is going to be required? Unless you have a wireless connection, forget taking you cool netbook and using it on the bus, the train, in the park etc. Just another annoyance.

Google also says that the OS will boot in 7 seconds. That’s hardly surprising considering all it does is boot a browser. Also. If your netbook has a standard hard drive, you’re out. This OS is SSD (Solid State Drive) compatable only. Why? Everything is saved online, apart from a bit of cache use for applications and memory.

So it’s great that there is going to be more competition, but I truely fail to see how they will market this OS as a good thing in it’s current state. I can’t think of one group of people, apart from fanboys, who could use this operating system effectively.

Holy Mother of God! The world is ending!!!

Swine Flu is all over the news at the moment, so if you haven’t read anything about it, click here.

Anyway, lets look at Australia. Melbourne has a shit load of it, and the other states have a few cases. Except the NT. Because no one goes there.

But lets look mainly at QLD. Every bastard in the government is worried about it. A P&O cruise ship had a few cases on board. It went to Sydney, those halfwits didn’t have a clue what to do, so they let everyone off the mingle in Sydney. Idiots.

It then pissed off to Cairns, and was ordered out to sea until they were done twidling their thumbs, and decided to send it to Brisbane. About a 60 second walk from my office. And I was workign Saturday when it docked. Great.

But no one was allowed off. Good work Anna, we can control this.

Oh, Queenslanders were allowed off. Because somehow they are exempt from the stupid flu. No Anna, we are not super humans, we can get it too.

My question is this. Why can’t they just leave them on the boat till it runs it’s course? It’s not as if it’s a shoddy little shit boat. It’s a luxury cruise liner.

With a doctor, plenty of food, showers, beds, bascially a city on the sea.

That’s my angover rant. Out.

What the fuck is the media’s problem? Why is it than every tiny problem that the world has is blown up to be the next coming of jesus, or the end of life as we know it?

Most recent is of course this Swine Flu. Yes, it COULD be huge. It could wipe us all out. Comparing it to the 1915 outbreak of Spanish Flu that kill huge amounts of people.

What they skip, is the fact that nearly 100 years ago when that outbreak occured, there was no research, decent hospitals, and doctors etc. They leave that out to scare the public.

What else have they blown up.

Oh, Global Warming. BULLSHIT.

North Korea will attack and kill everyone. BULLSHIT.

It goes on, and on, and on. And the little pawns believe every word, and just fuel the bullshit. Who would have thought some common sense was needed just when reading the news.

If you haen’t seen in the news lately, old K Rudd is a bit worried about the financial crisis, as soon as someone told him it was hurting Australia too, he decided to book tickets back for a couple of weeks to help out.

I’m not going to go into details, but I’ll be getting $950.00. Which is super awesome.

So again, thank you K Rudd.

Now, I don’t want to single just a couple of people, but I have to work with what I’ve got don’t I. 26th of January is Australia Day.

Australia Day means a lot of different things, for a lot of different people. But the one thing that is common, it’s about enjoying yourself in this beautiful country we call home.

It doesn’t matter where you are from, you can enjoy Australia Day, your way. Obviously on the day, we see a lot of Australian flags. People wearing them as capes, temp tattoos, hats, speedos, boxers, shirts, etc. You name it, there is bound to be someone wearing it.

But all of that enjoyment comes undone, when people decide it’s alright to tell people they shouldn’t be in Australia because of their colour, religion, dress, accent, or simply the way they spend their day.

Anyone wearing the flag who yelled abuse, caused physical abuse, or destroyed anyone’s property on Australia Day, hang your head in shame. You are not only a disgusting Australian, you’re a disgusting human being.

What some people don’t seem to get, is the people living in Australia from other countries and cultures, are here for the exact same reason that we didn’t piss off to another country (I did, but didn’t ahve a choice now did I!). Because we love the country in which we live.

We value all things Australian. The culture, the people, and oppotunities, the Government (I still hate Rudd) and everything great that we love about Australia.

Here’s a photo I want to show, of a few people in Sydney. Picture is from news.com.au

Now, for publication on the news website, part of the writing on them has been blurred. Surrounded by a picture of Australia, it stats “FUCK OFF WE’RE FULL”. Apart from the obvious lack of knowledge about the size and un-populated land mass in Australia, by wearing the Australia flag all over them, they are showing cultures in Australia who Australia really is.

I hear you say “But I’m not like that”, that’s right, most people aren’t. But all it takes is this one photo to land into a country somewhere other than here, and Australian’s are all racist pigs.

The flags should be removed, as should the tatts, and rubb that shit off them. We shouldn’t ridicule these idiots, we should sit them down, and ask them why someone who is trying to be so patriotic towards their beautiful Australia, can be so un-Australian in the process.

Here’s a quote, again, thanks to news.com.au

Now one of the girls in the photo, displayed in The Daily Telegraph today, has addressed the stunt on Sydney ’s radio 2GB afternoon show with Chris Smith – and claimed she didn’t mean to be offensive.

Speaking to host Smith, 16-year-old Sharon from Cherrybrook said she was not being racist or aiming at “anyone especially in Australia”.

She’s a 16 year old, obviously trying to fit in with the ‘cool’ gang at school, or maybe they are your typical ‘cool’ gang, and think what they says goes. Again, someone should let them know they are un-Australian, and a disgrace to Australia.

Now, she claimed she didn’t mean to be offensive. What exactly was she pushing for here? Laughter. I’m just trying to think of someone who may have flown into Australia on Australia Day, with their family, ready to start a new life. They are in the cab, driving from the aiport to a hotel. They see Sharon from Cherrybrook and her message. Are they going to laugh? No, they are going to think Australians are asshole racist pigs, and question whether they made the right decision.

She was not being racist. Well, she was wasn’t she. I can’t really think of what else you would call it.

Not aiming at anyone in Australia. That kind of sound like she thought about what she was doing (she clearly didn’t). So, she drew it on, hoping no Australians would take offence to it, clearly forgetting that a lot of Australians are a different colour or religion to her, she knew she would get her picture taken and it would be beemed across the world to other nationals of other countries. Something doesn’t add up. She, and her friends are idiots who don’t deserve to be apart of the multicultural country that we can all enjoy and call home.

So all that being said, hopefully next year when she takes her shirt off, gets some flags on her body and uses one as a cape, when she decides to write this shit on her, she has a disclaimer.

“FUCK OFF WE’RE FULL*”
“Of love, peace, and happiness, of all cultures, race and religion. We value what this country has to offer everyone, and we stand together as one nation”

Or maybe they should just change it to “FUCK OFF WE’RE FULL OF RACIST PRICKS! YOU DON’T WANT TO LIVE HERE WE WILL RIDICULE YOU, TEASE YOUR KIDS, BREAK YOUR SHIT AND MOCK YOU – DON’T BOTHER”

I hope this sudden trend to ‘protect’ Australia from the ‘evil scum of the world’ is done for good, so I can get back to sinking a couple (more) of beers, cooking up a BBQ and playing some backyard cricket, without turning my TV on to see that “Australians” are being racist pigs again.

Vegitarians are idiots. They don’t eat meat because of some stupid animal love. What they seem to forget is the fact that humans are carnivores. That is, we were made to eat meat.

We have always eaten meat.

One question that I have never had answered by a vegitarian. Once the cattle can no longer be milked, and the bull is too old to make babies, what do we do with them all. Once the chicken stops laying, it’s useless. Once the fish… oh come on, it’s a fish.

That moves me onto the fact that some vegitarians eat white meat. You fools, IT’S STILL MEAT! Make up your mind, you’re just making yourself look dumb.

Anyway, back to where I was. What do we do with the excess animals? Do you see room? No, they get killed. Ever seen a cow killed for steak?

I can bet most vegos haven’t, well its very humane, they don’t feel a thing.

So what’s the problem with eating these tasty beasts? Nothing!

Anyway, you still have to kill that poor plant, or did someone forget to tell you that plants are living too?

Anyway, check it.

The other day the we saw one of the biggest events in US history. The first black President.

America has come a long way from the days of black slaves, and given Barack Obama the top job.

But why should I give two hoots? And why should any Australian care?

For those with the un-political mind who jumped on board the Obama bandwagon (much like most of the youth jumped on the Kevin Rudd bandwagon without reason), Barack Obama isn’t going to change your life at all. He’s the President of the United States of America.

You don’t live in America, you live in Australia. I know, it’s hard to understand, they both start and end with the letter ‘a’.

NZ recently had a new PM elected. Did we give a rats? No, why not? I’ll tell you why, because he can’t help us, he can’t change our lives, he’s the NZ PM. That’s why.

So get off the bandwagon, and if you want to get into politics, start listening, and learning how it works.
