Well, Kevin Rudd was booted out, and Australia became the laughing stock of western civilisation. Then no one cared anymore.

So off to the polls on August 29 we went. Fast forward to September 6, and Australia is still yet to have a Government.

So Australia had a hung parliament. If you’re not political at all, basically, in Aussie, to form a government properly, either Liberal or Labor need to win 76 seats in parliament.

A hung parliament…. well it means Aussie pretty much thinks they both suck, and they couldn’t get the seats needed. Now it’s up to the douche bag independents to make a decision.

The question is. How much fucking longer do we have to wait exactly. They are saying tomorrow. I fucking hope so, because this is stupid.

So anyway. Chances are the red heat robot will be elected, because she’s throwing more money at the dickhead independents to get their vote.

My opinion. So this never happens again. 48 hours to make a decision. If they can’t make up their mind, we go back to the polls.

If a second election results in the same problem. The Governor General (Queens Bitch) makes a decision.

THIS IS BULLSHIT.

[End of Rant]

Jessica Watson has completed something that not many people have done, and not many people will do. She sailed around the world solo, in her little boat. She’s only 16, and there’s no denying that it’s one hell of an achievement, but is she really a hero?

Now, I mean no dis-credit to her, and she has openly said that she doesn’t see herself as a hero. It is just more proof that Australians are overusing a word, that should be reserved for people who truely deserve it.

People in the community who truely do good. Firefighters, Police Officers, Paramedics. Hell, it can be the average guy down the road, who faced with a life or death situation, chooses to risk his life, to save another.

Yet, our top politician (who is a twat, but that’s another story), feels it’s alright to list Jessica Watson alongside some of Australia’s most amazing people. By sailing around the road.

Yes, there was a lot of hype and support. But does that make you a hero? If it does, then I think we, as a nation, need to stop and think about some of the people in this country who have truely gone above and beyond to re-enforce one of Australia’s biggest qualities. Mateship.

You know, looking after your mates.

It saddens me to think that Kevin Rudd is happy to group this girl, who did achieve something great, in the same circle as the absolute true heros in this country.

Congratulations Jess. You did good, but you will never be a hero in the real sense of the word.

May 15, 2010 will be remembered by myself as the day a group of complete strangers came together, to remember all the good men, woman and children who have been killed on the Putty Road.

The Putty Road is 162km of winding, narrow and sometimes scary road. It was an emotion filled weekend which took a very unexpected twist. Which I will get into shortly.

On Saturday, there were about 200 people to attend the opening. A lot of people had lost fridns and loved ones. There were also a lot of people there who are involved in the trucking industry, just to show their respects for other blokes lost on the road.

Of course, we went through all of the regular thigns you would expect from a memorial. Some of the stories were absolutely heartbreaking, and really bought the day home.

As part of the opening, the organisers put on a social dinner that night. Myself, my grandparents, and my great aunt and uncle were sitting at one end of the table, listneing to the true horror that is country music.

There was a bloke and his wife at the end of the table in the same situation as us. Not knowing anyone, and not having many people to talk to, so we invited them to join us.

This is where the story, in my opinion, gets a little amazing, or, miraculous if you want to use that word.

My father was killed in 1987 on the Putty Road. When a family loses someone, immediatly, there becomes many questions that go unanswered, or the real information is distorted. Be that to protect the family, or ust second and third hand information mixing things up.

That night we met Errol Smith. A volenteer group captain of the NSW Fire and Rescue Service. He has been in his line of work for 54 years.

Still a long shot, but grandma asked if he remembered anything from Dad’s accident. We gave a date, we gave a name. From there, Errol remembered everything. Truck type, colour, how many people in the cab, injuries of the passenger, and what was on board.

This blew us all away. Without going into the details, and if anyone really wants to know, I will tell them privately. I can walk away from this weekend, with answers to some horrible questions. And thanks to Errol, I have also had the chance to stand at the very spot, where my father lost his life.

A lot of people say sorry, and think I need their sympathy. And please don’t take that the wrong way. I appreciate it, a lot. But the truth is, I have one memory of my father. I was only 11 months old, so I don’t feel upset.

What I find amazing. Out of all the people who we could have invited to join us for dinner. It was the one man, who could answer every single one of our questions.

If anything, this weekend has given us all something to think about. Be that those who are lost, or just about ourselves, and how things could have been if circumstances were different. A lot of people blame themselves for the loss of friends and family.

But also a lot of people saying that everything happens for a reason. Of course, this is met with people saying what reason could it be. To all of those people, think about what has happened since then. Both good and bad.

The way I see it. Without my father being killed, I would have never known my mother’s family as well as I do. My life would have been completely different. I can’t say it would have been bad, but I have had a good life up to this point, and I’m still happy. So why would I want to know what could have been.

For every negative in your life, I’m sure, if you think about it for a little while, there is always a positive to come out of it.

But anyway. Enough rambling I guess. From what I have seen this weekend, I will leave you with one thing.

Enjoy the people you love. Do what you can to enjoy your time with them. Corny? Absolutely. True? Absolutely. Because you never know what the next day will bring. Don’t ruin what you have now, because tomorrow it could be gone.

Now, I’ll be the first person to tell an Aboriginal joke. In saying that, I’ll also bag the shit ou of Kiwis, Asians, Brits etc. That doesn’t mean I hate them. I don’t think so anyway.

Everyone knows, the Aboriginals have a pretty bad reputation here in Australia. Why? Well, it’s more racism than anything.

Compared to “the white man”, Aboriginals are no better, or no worse. All I can base that on is the few that I know, who are hard working and friendly.

But that doesn’t take away the fact that there are still some deadshits out in their communities calling for equal rights, but still demanding more benefits than the average Australian white person should have. That’s another story.

The problem is. While racism exists, anything bad that one Aboriginal does, will automatically label all Aboriginals as the same.

I’m not talking about crimes, I’m talking about being a deadset wanker.

11-year-old Jessie Du from NSW won the Australia day design competition with Google. This meant that users of Google voted her logo design the best. And it very much represented Australia in everyway, and included the Aboriginal flag. Great.

However, the Aboriginal flag is a copywrited piece. Meaning, permission is needed to use it. In this case, when Google seeked the permission, they were denied, due to the fact that they wouldn’t pay enough to use it.

Now there are plenty of Aboriginal people who want this flag displayed next to the Australian national flag. Many want it to be the national flag, and many want it incorporated into the national flag.

So why the fuck would you disallow Google to display it on the front page, and the one day of the year that celebrates Australia?

Greed.

“It’s customary for anybody using it in a commercial situation to (pay) a fee component. It’s not about what I wanted. It’s about the process.

“The prizes had been issued before I’d been contacted – that put me on the back foot, in a defensive manner.

“They didn’t make me an appropriate offer.”

It’s not what he wanted, but they didn’t make him a good enough offer? This bloke is a fucking deadset idiot. He’s managed to contradict himself in one sentence.

One needs to ask. Does this bloke give a fuck about the flag, or is he more worried about the cash he can make from it. I wonder how the greater Aboriginal community feels about this clown?

Here’s the two designs side by side.

I spent my time down on the Gold Coast, staying at the Radisson Resort. It’s about 15 minutes from Broadbeach, a little way out for cabs, but apart from that, it was great.

A few things I picked up on the GC of note. First off, apparently Cavill Mall is danger central. Well it’s not, and I didn’t see too many cops looking after everyone either. Cab drivers down there, deadset need to move to Brisbane so we can get rid of these fucking useless pricks we have driving up here.

I’d like to thank John, from Regent, Cab 748. Never having to wait in a line, his personal phone number was quite handy.

I’ll get some photos onto FB at some point

Last week the Rudd Government upheld the law which states that Australian book stores can not import any book which has been published within Australia within 30 days of its international launch. This law is in place to protect Australian publishers.

Alright, so where I work, we have a couple of laptops. A HP which was purchased in April, and a Sony which was purchased on Friday. Both laptops now have issues, at the same time. One was fixed, one was a run around with an added dose of anger.

We’ll start off with the newest one. The Sony Vaio. Out of the box, it had an issue I wasn’t aware of. Anyway, after using it for a couple of days, that issue decided it was time to introduce itself.

Google told me that Sony Vaio (My model) have a fan noise issue. The best way I can describe it is a grunt when it spins up and down. Not to worry, Sony knows about it, I’m still within seven days of purchase, and I now have my new replacement. Yay.

Now HP is more difficult. Bare in mind, this is the same company we are dealing with, we purchased both laptop off them, and sent both back. The HP isn’t just a simple replacement, because it’s six months old, it needs to be sent for repairs.

The X, B, N, and J keys were all sticking, and the B key decided to pop off and not work anymore.

The company, who I won’t name, I will simply say they are the VideoPro.fessionals (Who operate another store in the city which we will call… Central Sony), who sold us the laptop made me take it in. They’re just up the road, no biggy.

However, I was told today the issue would not be fixed under warranty. This pissed me off, so I rang the very rude Raj from Logitech Solutions in Bridgeman Downs, and was told the same thing.

I then got on the blower to HP. There was no case, no notes and no warranty information updated in the system. This set off their little alarm bells, and it turns out he is not an Authorised or acknowledged repairer. So I ring the dick back.

“Hey, are you an Authorised HP repairer?”
“No we’re not”
“Then why are you looking at that laptop from the VideoPro.fessionals?”
“We are the sister company of NCSS”

NCSS is the only authorised HP repairer in Brisbane. So I rang them, and they have never heard of this guy, nor is he an agent they have ever held a contract with.

Now he wanted to charge me for looking at the laptop. Which I kindly declined of course, so I rang NCSS with this information, and now they have had a chat with him.

Needless to say. HP gave me a reference number, and now NCSS will go out of their way (Morningside – Bridgeman Downs), pickup my laptop, and return it to their shop to assess and hopefully repair.

So we have the following rundown:
Losers
VideoPro.fessionals
Logitech Solutions
Raj

Winners
VideoPro.fessionals
NCSS
HP

So what? The Broncos got flogged and will not win this year. We made it further than most, and no one expected it. But that’s not what I post this about. Yet again, I post a rant.

About who? I’m sure you’d understand if it was about Melbourne, and how they always beat us. Except in a Grand Final.

But no. It’s about dickhead Broncos fans, who year, after year, after year, will come out with the same four so called facts.

1. Move Lockyer back to Fullback

Why? He’s doing perfectly well where he is, why would we risk losing his skill for a season while he gets used to it again, when we could just let him dominate where he is.

2. Broncos need a new game plan

Why? We made it to within a game of the grand final. We played the most disciplined and well drilled team in the comp. I hate to say it, but really, were we ever a chance? Especially moving Lockyer to the 7.

3. Broncos won’t make the 8 next year.

Like this year right? Based on what exactly? We have lost players every year who were going to cause us massive problems. They still haven’t. Losing Taylor and Hunt will be no different. Any player can be replaced.

4. Wooden Spooners in the next couple of years.

As above.

These so called experts come out every year without fail. Deadset, bugger off to Canberra if you want a team to support where these comments might actually make sense.

As described by the wonderful world of UrbanDictionary.

a smelly, useless child of a bygone era that fostered in the loony liberalism that is currently eroding the United States of America to disasterous effect. Common attributes include: laziness, drug addiction, cowardice, a general lack of sanitary vigliance, Utopian ideals at the expense of logic and reason and a sort of general aimlessness that angers and perplexes hard working, patriotic realists to no end.
whats that smell? oh yah it’s that acid casualty hippie who Bill hired who never works, doesn’t bathe and worships Barrack Obama for no apparent reason.

I was fortunate enough to meet a couple of hippies today. Actually, that should be unfortunate. I don’t know who the hell bought them here, but I’ll give you one guess what type of vehicle they climbed out of.

Give up? Here’s you clue. It starts with CON. And end with V. Wow, lets embrace the stereotype hey.

But wait, there’s more. They fucking stunk to high hell. Now, picture me going for my regular 10k daily run. Now picture me doing my 500 push ups after that run. And then picture me rolling in my own filth. The smell would not come anywhere near what these bastards smelt like. I think they have actually burnt my nostrils.

Hang on. I’m not done with stereotypes. She was wearing a singlet, and she clearly hasn’t found a razor blade. I’m glad she was wearing pants, oh jesus.

They weren’t wearing their faggy rainbow colours, but they were wearing green, had cargos on, and had one of those stupid yellow satchels. I dunno what they’re made of, but they’re totally gay.

Anyway. They needed to hire a car for a few days. Fortunately, I don’t have any available, so this time, we escape having to turn one of our vehicles into a super gay hippie mobile.

They seemed a little bummed out about this, so I gave them options to other places where they might find a car. Of course, I know there are not many cars available, but hey. They’re hippies. They love a challenge right?

As if my information wasn’t helpful enough, they then needed to know where they can make a purchase for an item that I unfortunately at this stage do not stock. The description I think was the funniest thing. Seriously, I’m a big boy, all growed up. Why not just ask straight out, instead of: ”Oh man, thanks for your help, you wouldn’t happen to know where we would go to get some pretty decent home grown relaxants from do you?” Of course, this could still be many things. How am I to know that they aren’t into Chinese Medicine, anyway, I played dumb and told them I didn’t know what the were talking about. “You know. Relaxants. Use it, and some people get really happy and laugh, some pass out, but just really nice”.

Alright fuckwit, I know what you want. And of course, there are many ways to get the shit, it’s not hard. It’s almost as if you could put a sign up withthe shit on special and the cops wouldn’t do shit.

“Oh. You mean weed yeah? I have absolutely no idea, I know a few blokes hire cars and bugger off to Nimbin. It’s also the pot capital on Aussie, so yeah. Just ask anyone down there”

“Sweet man” Then they ruined my day. ”Peace Man *two fingers in air*” The first thing I thought was, wow, Richard Nixon really used to look like a douche. The second was how much I hate hippies and their stinky… ways.

Anyway. I hope they have a blast, and don’t come back into my offer prior to showering again.
